Itni Si Hasi is a Hindi movie directed by Aziz Mirza and produced by Saroj Khan. The movie was released on 7 September 2007. The cast includes Ameesha Patel, Ayesha Takia, Arbaaz Khan, Mohit Chauhan and Akshaye Khanna. Itni Si Hasi is the story of two sisters - Rani (Ameesha Patel) and Ranjana (Ayesha Takia) who live in Delhi with their mother Naseem Banu (Saroj Khan). Their father was killed in an accident when they were young which left their mother to raise them on her own. The story begins with Rani getting engaged to her sweetheart Ajay (Mohit Chauhan) who comes from a poor family. Ranjana has been in love with rich boy Bharat (Arbaaz Khan), but her mother was against her marriage as he comes from a wealthy family. Soon after the engagement, Naseem Banu decides to throw a party for Rani and Ajay, but a tragedy strikes and their mother passes away during the party. Ajay is shattered and soon leaves the house after taking away some money which was kept in their house by Ranjana. The sisters are left on their own once again. Ranjana and Rani handle their new situation with respect and care. Soon, they come to know that their father had a secret life and imparted the same qualities and values in his daughters and son, Ajay and Bharat respectively. Ajit (Akshaye Khanna) comes to their home as a friend of their father, but soon becomes a part of Ranjana’s life. Meanwhile, Rani develops feelings for Ajay who is now married to her sister. What will happen next? Who will Rani choose? Will Ajay accept Rani? The film also stars Poonam Dhillon in a supporting role. The Music Was Composed By Bapi-Tutul, Salim-Sulaiman and Released by Sony Music India. All Lyrics were penned by Babu Singh Maan & Shabbir Ahmed.The film received mixed reviews from critics. Taran Adarsh of Bollywood Hungama rated the film with 3 out of 5 star saying "On the whole, it’s an engaging tale told in a highly engrossing manner. The characterization is extremely strong, the performances are fine and so is the musical score. " The film was a box office failure. It grossed only Rs.3 crores in India despite having big-names like Ameesha Patel, Ayesha Takia, Arbaaz Khan and Mohit Chauhan attached to it. The film received 2 stars out of 5 from "Rediff", 4 stars out of 5 from "Planet Bollywood", 3 stars out of 5 from "Sify" and 1 star out of 5 from "Indiaglitz".
